Laurel Conboy

College Access Coach


Laurel Conboy has been a resident of Prince George’s County for over 25 years and is a graduate of PGCPS. She has received her AA in Speech Communications from Prince George’s Community College, her AAS in Business Administration from Anne Arundel Community College and her BS in Finance from the University of Maryland in 2015. Laurel is currently studying for her professional licensing as a Financial Planner at the University of Maryland University College.

In devotion to educating others in how to succeed in their educational, financial, and career pursuits she has spent the last 10 years promoting a positive community and works as a strong advocate for financial literacy in Prince George’s County. She is involved with the VITA program hosted at Prince George’s Community College where she also is an instructor for the Youth@Work Program for Financial Literacy. She also supported the launch of the Junior Achievement's Finance Park located in Landover, where she was able to instruct over 9000 PGCPS students in personal finance during the 2015-2016 school year.

Laurel believes an education should empower and help make a positive contribution to our world. With this in mind, she has joined First Generation College Bound serving as a College Access Coach. As the mother to a high school PGCPS student she is very sensitive to the challenges that parents are facing both in the county as well as the state and is confident in how she can positively influence the youth population.
